The only pub on the river at Windsor. Food is excellent, not just 'Pub grub'.

Amazing food, stunning location right on the river in Windsor and excellent service keeps me coming back for more at The Boatman. The Gin and Tonics are superb and my favourite dish is the Seabass. Perfect all year round!

This place has a great location and very good food. I read reviews and decided to stop here for a snack and a rest. But this is NOT A PUB any more! The layout on tables, staff behaviour and tips (12,5% INCLUDED in bills) is like in a restaurant. And staff is very rude if you don't want to pay tips. Cannot imagine such behaviour in a restaurant with this tips expectations.

Had a family reunion Sunday Lunch there today, what a great venue ... helps having good weather too.Staff couldn't be less obtrusive and yet be so attentive, really good.Not a complaint from any of the 12 eating and the bill was about right too. It's not fine dining but it's pretty solid cooking with fresh ingredients.You'd have to be pretty picky not to enjoy this place.

We had Sunday lunch at The Boatman and it was superb. The roast was delicious and very good size. The beers were excellent and the staff really friendly. Would definitely recommend eating here.

This 'Pub' is well undersold - I had the most amazing pasta I have ever eaten. They have an outdoor dining room that looks great (I ate in the pub which was also great, just less formal). Service was really good, not too much, but everything I needed was Taken care of.

Great views across the river. Nice friendly staff just popped in on the off chance and they were able to accommodate us. Had a roast beef Sunday roast. Great food and reasonable price.

Alfresco dining by the River Thames on a beautiful sunny day in historic Windsor. Perfect.

Was a gorgeous hot sunny day, so originally wanted just an alcoholic beverage in the garden, however as we were presented with a menu we decided to eat too. Having the restaurant outside rather than just a beer garden makes the atmosphere a bit classier then the norm. Service was great, no faults. Food portions were large and tasty, would definitely go back on a sunny day. They were quite busy though, so getting a seat may be a problem at certain times.

A great place to have a leisurely drink and snack in the sun! A fun and relaxing spot with reasonable prices. The view was charming and even if the food wasn't particularly inspired, it was tasty and served very hot. Great fish and chips!

At least if you sit outside, it is not much of a pub. The food was moderate, but the service was not great. Our waitress seemed quite snooty. Also, for all the Americans, when you ask for water, specify you want tap water, or face an automatic 4 Pound charge. Also, no need to tip because the service charge is included automatically!

I chose The Boatman in Windsor as it claimed to be the only pub in Windsor with river frontage which indeed it has. I was disappointed only in that the frontage was the huge conservatory reserved for dining. I am sure that no objection would be met had we requested to sit there but it was virtually empty and therefore no ambience. I might go back to dine as it is a really pretty location and the starters we ordered were quite good.

This place is really great. I eat out a fair amount with work and this place really stood out.I’d arrived expecting the usual - decent food and a nice enough evening with work colleagues - but this was way above the average.The food was really terrific and the service was exceptionally fast given that everything tasted very freshly cooked.I’d highly recommend this place and I’ll be sure to come back with my next work event.

Lovely food and venue. Just a wee bit pricey.

We stopped here for a quick drink and although the lager isn't cheap, £5.50 a pint, I have to say being able to sit outside by the river is well worth it. Would be perfect any summer evening. Was pretty busy for lunch and the food looked great, although we didn't partake. Would definitely recommend and will stop in again when we are in the area.

Poor service, very lacking (felt like we were a “bother” even though were only people in the establishment), Decor wasn’t sure what it wanted to be & unfriendly Art Deco with New England nautical touches. The Beer was good once I got past having a gnat my 1st pint. Our appetizers were quite good. Best local brew if the day was their failsafe.

After a stroll down the river promenade on the Windsor side you will find the Boatman neat the end of the path. Nice spot for boat and people watching, sat outside here for a drink at the weekend, nice place to avoid the hussle and bustle of town, didn’t eat so could not comment on that. Nice place to whirl away an hour or two.

£14 for a bun and a burger patty with no tomato, lettuce, pickle, relish, onion ring...nothing!! Rock hard chips and small side salad with wilted lettuce. Not good enough. Usually they do much better

Looking forward to having Sunday roast at The Boatman and didn't disappoint me at all! The food was very very good good portions beautifully presented and very tasty, service was excellent, love to go back again. You must book a table in a few days in advance ,the place was very busy with local family and friends get together which is good sign!

We sat outside as we had our little dog with us. What a stunning location overlooking the river. We both had the burger which was really good, very generous portions. Chocolate mousse for dessert was yummy. Staff very attentive. Looking forward to going back.

Went to the Boatman for a causal lunch on a sunny afternoon with 4 others and a baby. The waitresses were very slow at serving, food took a long time to arrive and wasn't worth the money or the wait. Once our food had arrive it unfortunately started to rain and we asked to move inside - this was considered an inconvenience as the staff were hesitant to offer us a table inside. We were stood outside in the rain with our plates when another guest kindly gave up their table. The experience wasn't easy or relaxing. Wouldn't return for the food. Location is nice, right on the river.

Delicious food and great riverside location. Best to book ahead if you want to eat in the riverside conservatory at a weekend as they were fully booked when we went on a Saturday. The indoor bit is nice too though.

We took our grandson here to celebrate his 9th birthday as it’s his favourite place. As always, the food was amazing - fresh, delicious and excellent value for money. More importantly, the staff really made our grandson feel like royalty. He has many complex additional needs and they were brilliant at catering for his dietary needs and he wants me to tell everyone that James is the best waiter ever!

Amazing view over the water front. Tables inside the “orangerie” or conservatory ... good service, regular check ins to see if you’re ready to order etc. Great meal. Good wine options.

Place itself was lovely, staff was not friendly nor helpful. Would not recommend to anyone with a family.

Great food and great atmosphere, pub is on the river, we were in the conservatory nice and cool. We were well looked after, few mishaps on drinks and the salad (in picture) I ordered goat cheese salad and it was more like a hot meal like a salad but it was nonetheless delicious and good portion as you can see! I added shredded duck on the top. My partner had the burger and he loved it (he is fussy!!). They made a special effort as it was my birthday and we got kindly treated to desserts! We will definitely come back on an afternoon for drinking as there is a lovely decking section outdoor on the river. :)

Went here for brunch - loved it! Excellent food and drink, attentive staff, nice atmosphere and fair prices for where it is. Located in a nice spot; easy to find, plenty of space, and it's light and airy but still maintains a welcoming environment. Easy recommendation!

Pretty standard pub grub, more of an upper market style place though & food prices reflect this. The staff were very nice and helpful
